The lipid barrier keeps the moisture in without drying out quickly or letting oxidants in.  The lipid barrier and specifically, Omega-6 in the form of Linoleic acid, has a direct role in maintaining the integrity of the water permeability barrier of the skin.

Keeps skin clear of toxins and free radicals that damage and age skin.

The vitamin E content means that within the lipid barrier it boosts the body's ability to get rid of free radicals i.e. micro-organisms, UV, allergens, and irritants.  Vitamin E acts as a radical scavenger, delivering a hydrogen (H) atom to free radicals which minimises their damaging effect particularly through oxidation. Also, Vitamin E is easily absorbed, and as a fat soluble compound is incorporated into cell membranes, which therefore gives further protection from oxidative damage.

Keeps pores clear so skin even in tone and prevents acne:

The light texture easily absorbs into the skin has a lovely emollient effect and evens the skin. In addition, the emollience, and easy  absorption helps to keep pores clear by easily dislodging any impurities. The combination of clear pores and Vitamin A may be a good source of acne prevention. Additionally, Vitamin B and Zinc are both shown to have a significant role in maintaining healthy skin.

Protects from UV damage:
